Jim Breuer and The Loud & Rowdy line-up:
Jim Breuer - Vocals
Rob Caggiano - Guitar
Joe Vigliotti - Bass
Mike Tichy - Drums
Jim Breuer’s first full-length album w/ a backing band The Loud & Rowdy. Jim Breuer is a comedian respected by the metal community, so Breuer forming his own band was inevitable. His band consists of Mike Tichy on drums, Joe Vigilotti on bass, Rob Caggiano (Volbeat) on guitars & Breuer on the mic.
The Loud & Rowdy transformed from the Jim Breuer band & has played such events as Rock on the Range, Metallica’s Orionfest in Detroit & Wacken Festival in Germany, which just goes to show it’s all who you know in the rock & roll business.
I would classify Jim Breuer & the Loud & Rowdy band & music in the Steel Panther/Tenacious D/Spinal Tap category, w/ the satirical/parody songs, although Breuer’s band is a bit heavier. “Thrash” has Sharon Osbourne yelling at Ozzy (not really sure if it’s really them, but it sounds like them) about going to the mall instead of drinking beer, hysterical, “Raising Teenage Girls” reminds me a bit of a glam or Ugly Kid Joe song, has a catchy riff & you can sing along pretty quickly. “Old School” is rocking, kind of like “I Hate Myself For Loving You” by Joan Jett. “Be A Dick 2Nite”, explains how one annoys people while they are out drinking. AC/DC’s Brian Johnson lends his spoken word on the bluesy My Rock & Roll Dream while Caggiano plucked away the blues harmony as well as writing the score. Mr. Rock & Roll sung by Johnson kicks ass, it’s an anthem about rock & roll. “Family Warrior” is a comedic way to cope w/ family problems in Bruer’s life. “Sugar Rush” about the craziness of kids on sugar. “Wannabe” about posers ha.
If you like Metal or Rock & Roll, then pick up a copy of Jim Breuer & the Loud & Rowdy’s “Songs from the Garage” & crank it to 11 man!

COAL CHAMBER
RIVALS
NAPALM RECORDS
COAL CHAMBER'S FIRST CD AS A RE-UNITED BAND W/ MIKEY COX, DEZ FAFARA, NADJA PEULEN & MEEGS RASCON.
I REMEMBER WHEN COAL CHAMBER CAME OUT, I THINK I GOT A CD AT FOUNDATIONS FORUM BACK IN THE DAY & SAW THEM ON THE FIRST OZZFEST. THEY WERE A BAND OF THE 90'S THAT ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE PLAYING SOME REALLY COOL SHOWS. I HAVE PROBABLY SEEN THEM MORE TIMES THAN I REMEMBER AS THEY WERE ALWAYS PLAYING.
"RIVALS" IS COMING OUT ON 5/16/15 ON NAPALM RECORDS, IN THE MEANTIME, THEY ARE HEADED TO THE U.K. & EUROPE FOR SOME SHOWS W/ SOIL, THE DEFILED & DOPE.
COAL CHAMBER HAVE MADE FRIENDS & ARE STARTING W/ A NEW ATTITUDE & "RIVALS" EXPLORES THE PENT UP ENERGY THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN SITTING ON FOR SOME TIME, THEY FELT IT WAS TIME TO RECONNECT & DO THIS SHIT! COAL CHAMBER FANS AROUND THE WORLD WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, THIS ALBUM HAS BALLS & LOTS OF AGGRESSION! THE NU-METAL ASPECT IS STILL THERE, BUT THERE IS A LOT OF HARD HEAVY POUNDING ROCKING METAL IN THIS ALBUM! I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE ENERGY BEING TRANSLATED ON STAGE AS THAT WILL BE A KICK ASS SHOW!
MY FAVORITES ARE "I.O.U. NOTHING" I THINK THIS SHOULD BE THEIR THEME SONG, VERY AGGRESSIVE & POWERFUL, SOUNDS A BIT LIKE CAVALERA CONSPIRACY (ONLY BETTER ENGLISH, HA), "BAD BLOOD BETWEEN US" A LITTLE KORN SOUND IN SOME OF THESE SONGS AS WELL, "LIGHT IN THE SHADOWS", THEY DO GEL WELL, "OVER MY HEAD" HAS A MAJOR GROOVE, THESE SONGS ARE PRETTY SHORT IN LENGTH. DEFINITELY NU-METAL, ALTHOUGH THE GENRE ISN'T NU ANY MORE.
"RIVALS" IS THE FIRST ALBUM THAT DEZ FAFARA HASN'T WRITTEN LYRICS ABOUT HIS BANDMATES, SO HE SAYS. RECORDED IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS & OVERSEEN BY PRODUCER MARK LEWIS LATE 2014. COAL CHAMBER IS FORGETTING THE PAST & MOVING FORWARD WHERE THEY LEFT OFF & THEY ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT WHERE THEY ARE NOW. "WHETHER PEOPLE KNOW US OR NOT, I THINK WHEN PEOPLE HEAR THIS RECORD, THEY'RE GONNA HEAR SOMETHING REFRESHING." QUOTED FROM THE BAND. I COMPLETELY AGREE, I DON'T FEEL THEY ARE REHASHING, I BELIEVE THEY ARE PICKING UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF. PROMISING TO COMMUNICATE & BE HONEST W/ EACH OTHER IS THE KEY TO ANY RELATIONSHIP, IN MY OPINION & THIS IS THE PATH THEY ARE TAKING.
I WISH COAL CHAMBER WELL & SAFE TRAVELS. MAKE SURE YOU PICK UP A COPY OF THIS WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

DEEP PURPLE
Long Beach 1971
earMUSIC
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS LIVE! IT IS FLAWLESS! THE ONLY PROOF OF A LIVE AUDIENCE IS AT THE END OF THE SET OTHERWISE I TOTALLY WOULD NOT BELIEVE IT! NO IPODS, NO TELEPROMPTERS, NO TECHNICAL STUFF TO MAKE THEM SOUND BETTER, THEY JUST SOUND AMAZING! DEEP PURPLE ARE NOT PLAYING TO A TAPE!
DEEP PURPLE IS AN AMAZING HARD ROCK & ROLL BAND, THEY ARE BLUESY & GROOVY ALL WRAPPED INTO ONE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. WHEN I WENT TO SEE THEM LAST YEAR AT THE O.C. FAIR I SAT THERE IN AWE, SO AMAZING!
THE LINE-UP ON THIS ALBUM IS RITCHIE BLACKMORE (GUITARS), IAN GILLAN (VOCALS), ROGER GLOVER (BASS), JOHN LORD (KEYBOARDS) & IAN PAICE (DRUMS). I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THIS SHOW & THIS LINE-UP, SADLY I WAS TOO SMALL. WOULD LOVE TO MEET ANYONE WHO WAS AT THIS SHOW & HEAR THEIR STORY!
THIS IS THE 3RD OF A SERIES OF DEEP PURPLE LIVE RECORDINGS, "LONG BEACH 1971" RECORDED AT THE LONG BEACH ARENA, IN LONG BEACH, CA (BEST PLACE EVER!), PREVIOUS RELEASES ARE "PARIS 1975", "STOCKHOLM 1970" & "GRAZ 1975". THIS RECORDING WAS REMASTERED IN 2014 & FEATURES OVER 70 MINUTES OF MUSIC IN 4 SONGS!
THIS SHOW WAS RECORDED AS A LIVE BROADCAST ON KUSC 91.5 FM ON 7/30/71 AS A SHOWCASE IN SUPPORT OF ROD STEWART & THE FACES...IF I WAS IN THE AUDIENCE & HEARD THIS AMAZING SHOW & THE FACES WERE NEXT I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LEFT AS DEEP PURPLE KILLED IT! THE QUALITY OF THIS RECORDING IS TIMELESS!

BUTCHER BABIES
UNCOVERED
CENTURY MEDIA
THE BUTCHER BABIES "UNCOVERED" ALBUM ARE COVERS OF SONGS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW & WAS RELEASED 9/30/14.
STARTING OFF THE 5 SONG EP IS "BEER DRINKERS & HELL RAISERS" ORIGINALLY PERFORMED BY ZZ TOP. I DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE SONG AT ALL! NAPOLEAN XIV'S "THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY" REMINDS ME OF SUNDAY NIGHT RADIO LISTENING TO DR. DIMENTO AS A TWEEN. BUTCHER BABIES DO A NICE KICK ASS COVER! MY FAVORITE SONG FROM SUICIDAL TENDENCIES "SUICIDAL FOR LIFE" "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK". I WILL ALWAYS LOVE ST'S VERSION BUT BB'S PERSPECTIVE GIVES ST A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY. "CRAZY HORSES" BY THE OSMONDS I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THIS SONG, DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER HEARD IT BEFORE BUT I AM SURE THIS VERSION IS BETTER & LASTLY "PUSSY WHIPPED" BY STORM TROOPERS OF DEATH, ANOTHER SONG I DON'T REMEMBER EVER HEARING BUT I'M SURE BB DID A FANTASTIC METAL JOB COVERING IT!
THIS EP ROCKED! I WILL PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THIS BAND IN THE FUTURE, I ALWAYS SEEM TO MISS THEM WHEN THEY COME AROUND AS THEY USUALLY ARE THE OPENING BAND & I JUST CANNOT GET TO A VENUE AT 7PM.
